Arsenal Move For Loic Remy Amidst ‘Big Offer’ From Rennes – Report
Wenger needs to move fast as Rennes and Lyon hover…

Arsenal’s devastating defeat to Manchester United could force Arsene Wenger to bid for Nice forward Loic Remy.

The 23-year-old, dubbed the ‘new Thierry Henry’, is hot property in France and is the subject of a £13 million bid from Rennes, while former club Lyon are also rumoured to be preparing move.

Wenger reportedly tried to sign the targetman on loan last week but could return with a firm cash offer to secure the signature of the French international.

Gunners chief scout in France, Gilles Grimandi, said, according to the Daily Mail: “We know the potential of Remy. He has one of the greatest potentials in France and perhaps even in Europe over the next five years.” (Goal.com)

Well as it turned out Rennes were unsuccessful in their bid for highly rated striker Loic Remy but the ball is now very much in Lyon’s court as they have first refusal on their former player but if they decide not to pursue the matter than Arsenal appear to be ready to swoop and Arsene Wenger is clearly keen to bring the French international to the Emirates.

A very talented speedy and intelligent goalscorer, Remy has really come of age in the past 18 months and the north London side appear to be the player’s first choice and Loic has been quoted as saying

“I often talk about Arsenal with Diaby and Sagna when I am with them in the French team. They tell me that when you are at Arsenal you want to stay there for your entire career.”

Fulham are set to rival Arsenal in the race to sign English wonderkid Raheem Sterling, according to the Daily Mirror.

Raheem Sterling looks the business and now Arsenal may have to step up their pursuit to avoid losing out to other Premier League interested parties. It is as yet unknown how much such a move would cost the Gunners but a figure of £1.5m has been mooted and whilst such an amount may be seem large for a player of such a young age it could also prove to be one hell of a bargain but it is believed the west London side would want to add other incremental deals alongside the original outlay.
