Premier League: Arsenal 1 v 3 Manchester United

Arsene Wenger will surely be spending some of his £35million transfer fund this summer, as Arsenal were involved in three last-minute deals on transfer deadline day which failed to go through.
Wenger was close to bringing in two players on loan, including a centre forward, and another on an initial loan with a view to a permanent move.
It was a dramatic move by the club, the day after their dispiriting 3-1 defeat at home by Manchester United, and not adding to the squad in the final hours may well leave them short for the rest of this season.
But it does seem to indicate that Wenger is ready to spend money in the summer to add the finishing touches to his team. (Daily Mail)

The summer can’t come a minute to soon for Arsenal at present and the fact that Arsene Wenger has money to burn is somewhat irrelevant this end of the transfer window. Having spoken to a great many Gunners fans of late the general consensus is that the Emirates could do with another striker, or two, and a solid dependable keeper and perhaps another centre back (even though Sol Campbell has just returned to the club).

Clearly there is a problem in the attacking area due to the raft of injuries in that department and some would say that Arsene Wenger should have been more prepared for such an eventuality but that could be a little harsh on the Arsenal boss. Others feel that Manuel Almunia is back to his flapping unconfident self and the Spaniard doesn’t seem the keeper he was last season. And its true that the north London club’s back four has been very flat footed and a tad slow when dealing with counter attacks and even basic balls into the box.

Who would Arsenal fans like to see Wenger splash the cash on in the summer?
