Arsene Wenger confirmed that Eduardo would miss Arsenal’s Premier League game against Liverpool on tonight.
“Eduardo will not be back for Liverpool, but he should be available for Porto.”
With Nicklas Bendtner still struggling to return to full-fitness, Arsenal may once again turn to the diminutive Andrey Arshavin to lead the line in attack.
Which brings us neatly to another striking issue
Arsene Wenger today refused to be drawn on speculation that the Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh would join Arsenal on a free transfer during the summer.
He said “I believe he talks to many clubs, that he is entitled to do. He is free to sign a pre-contract. He is free to sign where he wants but I cannot interfere in that. We are talking to nobody. We are focusing on tomorrow’s game.”
Chamakh has previously declared that Arsenal are his preferred team despite being linked with a host of other clubs including Liverpool.
