Arsenal have travelled to Porto without a host of first-teamers ahead of their Champions League game on Wednesday.
Andrey Arshavin misses out because of a hamstring strain, the same injury that prevents Eduardo from travelling, while William Gallas (back) is also left out.
Manuel Almunia (finger) and Alex Song (knee) will not feature either, as they join the likes of Robin van Persie and Carlos Vela on the sidelines.
Porto could be without playmaker Ruben Micael because of a bruised shoulder.
The January signing has been a key player for the Portuguese outfit since his arrival and would be a big loss to the hosts, while Colombian Radamel Falcao will be Porto’s only fit forward with Ernesto Farias and Orlando Sa struggling with injuries.
Portugal midfielder Raul Meireles should return, though, while Brazilian striker Hulk – who has been serving a domestic suspension since 20 December – should feature.Arsenal (from): Fabianski, Clichy, Vermaelen, Campbell, Eboue, Nasri, Denilson, Fabregas, Diaby, Walcott, Bendtner, Mannone, Sagna, Silvestre, Traore, Vela, Ramsey, Rosicky. (BBC Sport)
This could well be tricky for Arsene Wenger’s men as they take on the Portuguese champions with a host of top players out injured. Arsenal will be hoping that Lukasz Fabianski can go someway to proving his doubters wrong and the young Polish international will be hopeful he can step out of Manuel Almunia’s shadow and if he is to do so then it will be in games such as these that he needs to be mentally ready to perform.
Gunners fans will also be hoping that Abou Diaby can continue to display the form that has impressed many in recent months but the Emirates side is taking on a side who are unbeaten at home in domestic football and will be looking to inflict some damage in this vital home leg.
The Bet of the Night for me would be on the game being a bit niggly and that there would be 4 or more cautions dished out and you can get odds of 4/6 on that bet which is a pretty decent return. CLICK HERE to see more great odds from Bet365.
My Prediction: 1-1, Arsenal to get that crucial away goal.

I would say 2-1 to Porto. Hulk and Falcoa are both too good and Arsenal have just got too many injuries.

arsenal have what it takes to beat porto despite the so many injuries. I think Fabianski has to be on top of his game during this match. with nasri, roscky, fab and diaby, I believe the team can connect.

This evening, in the Allianz Arena in Munich, a familiar face will be donning his black kit and whistle, and taking charge of a last-sixteen clash in Europe’s premier club competition.
Tom Henning Ovrebo, that fish-stinking Norwegian thief, who’s Wenger-esque myopia prevented Guus Hiddink’s Chelsea from a Champions League final rematch with Manchester United in Rome last May, will be officiating Bayern Munich’s first-leg tie against Fiorentina.
For a man who is so blatantly incompetent, at best, and a downright cheat, at worst, to be let off the hook by the suits at UEFA and put in charge of another massive European occasion is nothing short of gross negligence from Europe’s pen-pushing officals.
German newspaper Bild have devoted an entire article to the 43-year-old this morning, in which they warn Bayern’s star players like Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben not to expect a reliable performance from the officials this evening.
Amazingly, Ovrebo was also on a final shortlist of fourteen referees selected by UEFA to officiate at the World Cup finals in South Africa this summer. Thankfully, he has missed out on the final cut of ten.
