Manchester United clinched the Carling Cup thanks to a winner from Wayne Rooney. Sir Alex decided to rest the in form England man but he was called upon when Michael Owen was taken off shortly before half time.
Nemanja Vidic conceded a penalty early on which James Milner calmly slotted home to give the Villa Park side the lead however Michael Owen leveled matters soon afterwards with a finish from just inside the penalty area.
Wayne Rooney then settled matters with 15 minutes left to go headed past Brad Friedel after good work from Dimitar Berbatov and Luis Antonio Valencia.

Wayne is becoming a player who is the most important in United. As Fergie said, he will be able to score more than 30 goals this season..I also hope Capello will select Owen to go South Africa with England team……

it wasn’t for a red card! because Vidic was in front of him, not behind!you can see that Agbonlahor moved left, Vidic moved in front of him, and than Vidic tried to take a ball, you can see Vidic trying to get a ball, but Agbonlahor moved the ball, and Vidic hit him!! Rooney is a great player, but Manchester need one more attacker like him, when Rooney stop, who is going to score! By the way, i am not Manchester fan!!!
