Carlos Tevez netted a hat-trick to help Manchester City to an easy win over Wigan at Eastlands. Roberto Mancini’s men had to wait until late in the second half to take the lead but when they did there was no stopping them.
Gary Caldwell was sent off for what the referee Stuart Attwell harshly deemed a two footed tackle on Carlos Tevz and soon afterwards the Argentine had made it one nil and he followed that up with a second and third to complete a marvelous 12 minute treble that left Roberto Martinez’s side reeling.
The win helps Manchester City in their quest for a Champions League spot and takes them back above Liverpool and into fifth place just two points behind fourth placed Tottenham.
