Arsene Wenger fails to persuade Serie A keeper to make Emirates move.
Arsenal have missed out on the chance to snap up highly rated Uruguayan keeper Fernando Muslera. Arsene Wenger had set his sights on capturing the 23 year old Lazio man but will be dismayed to find out that the youngster has put pen to paper on a five year deal to stay at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Emirates boss appears keen to bring in a new face or two in the summer and had earmarked another keeper and his need seems ever greater as Manuel Almunia contiues to display an alarming level of inconsistency between the sticks.
The Spanish keeper has made a number of high profile errors this season and with Lukasz Fabianski looking even more accident prone and Vito Mannone being too raw for the deep end and a number of goalies have been linked with a move to the north London club but the Gunners will now have to look at alternative additions.
The Gunners have been linked to the likes of Artur Boruc, Joe Hart and most recently Schalke’s Manuel Neuer and it remains to be seen just who Wenger may look to sign to steady the ship behind his back four.
