Goodison Park boss closes in on Welsh youngster.
David Moyes appears to be leading the chase to snap up Cardiff City’s contract rebel Joe Ledley this summer. Everton are set to beat off interest for the 23 year old Welsh international and will stand to sign the attacking midfielder for a fee as low as £5m when a tribunal meets to decide on the players value.
Ledley has been one of Cardiff City’s leading lights for a number of seasons now and having watched the likes of Aaron Ramsey leave the Bluebirds the local born talent is ready to move up to the Premier League level and even more likely to do so if David Jones fails to take the side up to the top tier through the play-offs.
The Toffees face stiff competition for his signature as the Stoke City, Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers all look to convince the free scoring midfielder to leave Cardiff. Everton are looking to bring in new additions this summer but do not have a great deal of funds to call upon and therefore a move such as this would suit them perfectly.
