Anfield readies itself for Italian swoop.
Liverpool are preparing themselves for a big summer bid from Serie A strugglers Juventus for Dutch international Dirk Kuyt. Reports are circulating in Italy that the Old Lady of Italian football are ready to make a bid for the striker that Rafa Benitez has moulded into a right sided attacker.
Italian sources believe that Kuyt may be tempted by a move away from Anfield due to the uncertainty that shrouds the Merseyside club. With speculation surrounding the future of current boss Rafa Benitez as well as the very real possibility that Liverpool will miss out on a Champions League place the former Feyenoord man could be ready to leave the club he joined back in August 2006.
The Anfield outfit may still have to sell players in order to fund crucial additions to their line up, even though the club appears to be about to switch ownership there is no guarantee that Liverpool’s financial problems will be resolved so swiftly.
The 29 year old may also be encouraged by the chance to return to his usual position of forward at the Turin side but the success of any move for Kuyt may depend on who Juventus looks to put in charge to replace caretaker boss Alberto Zaccheroni this summer.
