Manchester City will attempt to lure Aston Villa winger Ashley Young to Eastlands this summer. Roberto Mancini has earmarked the 24 year old England international as one of his transfer targets as he gets ready to spend big to add more creativity to his midfield in order to improve the supply line to his many striking talents.
Ashley Young has been linked with a move away from Villa Park and the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with the former Watford man who was signed by Martin O’Neill for a club record fee of £9.75m in January 2007.
Mancini is looking to increase his quota of British players ahead of new ‘homegrown’ regulations set to be adopted by the Premier League and believes he can make an offer that will the midlands outfit will find hard to turn down. The impressive attacker has been in fine form for Aston Villa over the pas two seasons and is valued at around £22m.
