Liverpool triumphed over relegation bound Burnley to keep alive their feint Champions League hopes. Rafa watched on as Steven Gerrard led the Anfield outfit to a comfortable win over the Clarets at Turf Moor.
The Liverpool captain scored his first early in the second half and added a quality second from long range soon after. Argentine international Maxi then ended the game as a contest with his first for the club with 15 minutes left on the clock. Ryan Babel netted a fourth to complete the rout in injury time.
The win puts Liverpool just two points from fourth spot but having played a game more than both Tottenham and Man City.
