Anfield misfit set for swift Italian return.
Serie A strugglers Juventus are preparing a bid for Liverpool misfit Alberto Aquilani this summer. Rafa Benitez is apparently ready to cut his losses with the Italian international and are willing to accept bids considerably lower than the total £20m outlay the Anfield side paid for the Roma man in the summer.
The talented midfielder managed just his seventh Premier League start of the season yesterday and put in an excellent performance but is apparently still on his way out and a number of Italian clubs are ready to make offers for a player who was considered the bright shining new hope of the national team but has seen his career blighted by injuries that led many to believe that Rafa’s move for Aquilani to be a misguided signing.
Liverpool will apparently settle for any bids over £10m for the 25 year old as Benitez looks to generate funds for new arrivals. The likes of Albert Riera and Ryan Babel could also be cashed in on, although Dutch Winger Babel’s recent run of good form could avert his departure.
