Wenger keen on bringing in young centre back to the Emirates before the World Cup.
Arsene Wenger has placed Serbian international centre back Neven Subotic at the top of his summer spending plans as he looks to freshen up his defensive options. The 21 year old Borussia Dortmund man has expressed his interest in making a move to the Premier League after three seasons in the Bundesliga.
The highly rated youngster has been in fine form this term for both club and country where he helped Serbia to World Cup qualification and Arsenal are keen to seal a deal for the former Mainz man before the competition begins and increases the player’s valuation.
Wenger sees the towering defender as the ideal long term solution to an aging back line and the Gunners could be set to offload William Gallas, Sol Campbell and Mikel Silvestre this summer as they look to inject some youth to the one area of the side that has a few too many miles on the clock.
