Emirates boss set to make bid for PSV man.
Arsene Wenger is ready to reignite his interest in intelligent Dutch playmaker Ibrahim Afellay this summer. The 24 year old has been a long term target of the Gunners boss and the Emirates side hope to finally clinch the signing as they prepare to offload injury prone Tomas Rosicky to help create space to accommodate him.
After seven seasons in the Philips Stadion line up Afellay appears ready to consider leaving a side that has lost its grip on the Dutch Eredivisie. After securing four domestic titles the talented flair player may well have realised that in order to continue his career progression he must consider moves away from PSV.
Wenger is set to receive a significant cash boost to help improve his Arsenal squad and is considering moves for several top notch players and whilst other areas of the team may seem more urgent to deal with, such as the need for a new keeper and further striker cover, the Frenchman appears to feel that the time is right to make a move for the Dutch international.
