Manchester United have set their sights on Tottenham Playmaker Luka Modric and Sir Alex Ferguson believes they can persuade the Croatian international to move to Old Trafford. The Premier League champions will make an offer of £25m for the 24 year old and feel that if the north London side fail to secure a Champions League place this season then they could snap him up.
Harry Redknapp has seen his White Hart Lane side go from strength to strength and they stand on the verge of securing a top four finish which they could not have dreamed of when the former West Ham boss first arrived at the club. Talented midfielder Modric has been a big part of the upturn in fortunes at the club and has become a much sought after player.
Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to add more creativity to his side and with Paul Scholes nearing the end of his Man United career and with Michael Carrick fallen out of favour, Ferguson is looking to Modric to become the focal point of his midfield.
Redknapp will vehemently fight off any interest in one of his top performers but knows that he may find it hard to stop Modric from having an interest in a move to the title chasers.
