Anfield boss targets Turkish international.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez believes he can secure the signing of impressive Galatasaray attacker Arda Turan this summer just so long as he can persuade the club’s money men to back him in the transfer market. The Anfield manager feels that he can tempt the talented Turkish international to the club, especially if the Istanbul side fail to secure a top two spot and the resultant Champions League place that comes with it.
The much admired speedy wide man has long been a target of Europe’s elite clubs and after four seasons as a regular in the Galatasaray side he may be ready for a new challenge. His employers will not let the 23 year old leave unless an offer is made that they deem is worth accepting.
Benitez is apparently ready to offer a fee in the region of £12m for Turan and is ready to cash in on the likes of Albert Rieira, Philipp Degen and Ryan Babel in order to fund new arrivals as he looks to refresh his faltering Liverpool side.
The likes of Manchester City and Arsenal are also supposedly interested in the left winger who can also play behind the striker and it is in this position that Rafa may get the most benefit from the Turkish international.
