Goodison Park boss set to seal deal to sign Elland Road goal machine.
David Moyes will apparently clinch a summer deal to sign Leeds United contract rebel Jermaine Beckford in a matter of weeks. The Everton boss is known to be a big admirer of the 26 year old and leads the chase to snap up the Elland Road goal machine on a Bosman deal early next month.
The Ealing born striker has had another fantastic season at the west Yorkshire side, netting 30 goals that have helped Simon Grayson’s side to within touching distance automatic promotion. Beckford has scored an incredible 84 goals in the past three seasons.
Moyes is looking for alternative attacking options having apparently lost faith in Yakubu and is looking to partner the former Wealdstone man alongside Louis Saha in his Goodison Park attack. The Everton boss is hopeful of offering Beckford the kind of deal that will put him ahead of other potential suitors who apparently include Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers.
