Old Trafford boss confident he can snap up impressive Bosnian.
Sir Alex Ferguson plans on beating Real Madrid to the signing of Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko. The Manchester United boss is ready to cough up a fee of as much as £27m for the 24 year old Bosnian and believe that the guarantee of a first team spot, alongside Wayne Rooney, could be too tempting for the prolific goalscorer to resist.
Dzeko will have noted how the likes of Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Karim Benzema have completed big money moves to the Bernabeu only to see themselves frozen out of the first team before they even had a chance to prove themselves and may instead feel that a move to Old Trafford would better serve his career.
With Ferguson set to give up on Manchester United flop Dimitar Berbatov and with no other real competition for the place alongside England hotshot Rooney it seems quite reasonable to suggest that the former Teplice man would be more tempted by a move to the Premier League.
Edin Dzeko has had a marvelous season at Wolfsburg where his side on the whole have struggled to live up to last term’s title winning pinnacle the powerhouse forward has managed to still keep banging in the goals mounting up an impressive 28 goals in all competitions.
