Harry Redknapp wants to bring Spanish starlet to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham are interested in netting impressive Spanish Intenational Juan Mata. Harry Redknapp has set his sights on the Valencia man and is ready to test the waters with a bid for the £14m rated 22 year old. The La Liga club may well be forced to sell a player or two this summer to allay financial concerns and could opt to lose the speedy attacker instead of accepting deals for the likes of David Villa and David Silva.
Whilst the White Hart Lane club have managed to secure a top four finish and the resultant Champions League berth the north London side appear to want to further strengthen an already highly talented squad.
Mata’s ability to play in a number of roles, from out and out winger to playing behind the strikers to playing as part of a strike pair, is said to greatly interest Redknapp who is looking to use a cash injection set to be given to him by the club’s chairman Daniel Levy.
The former Real Madrid youth player has become a crucial member of the Mestalla side and has been most effective out wide where his speed and trickery have helped develop him into something of an assist machine. Mata is now also a regular part of the Spanish national team set up and will no doubt be part of Vicente del Bosque’s World Cup squad.
