Anfield boss set to complete deal for Rangers defender.
Liverpool are reportedly close to completing a £4m deal to bring Scottish teenager Danny Wilson to Anfield. The 18 year old will apparently agree a move to the Merseyside outfit in the next few days but could be loaned straight back to the Ibrox side for next season.
The youngster has been most impressive when called upon by Walter Smith this season and is already on the verge of a Scottish Under 21 international call up. Wilson, in his first season in the Gers’ first team, has managed a decent run in the first team mounting up 25 starts in the SPL title winning side.
Rafa Benitez is looking at bringing in more and more young talent to the club and the arrival of the Livingston born centre back comes hot on the heels of the capture of Charlton Athletic striker Jonjo Shelvey and further illustrates Liverpool’s desire to beef up their squad with players with a great deal of potential and are available for a relatively small fee.
