Wenger wants to bring experienced Lyon man to the Emirates.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to bid big to bring in an experienced and able defensive midfielder this summer and has set his sights on Lyon enforcer Jeremy Toulalan. The north London club used the likes of Alex Song and Denilson to good effect to help support Cesc Fabregas in the centre of the midfield but now the Gunners manager is looking to bring in the French international.
The 26 year old Nantes born defensive midfielder has done it all in Ligue 1 and is reportedly ready for a new challenge and would jump at the chance of a move to the Emirates. During his four seasons at Lyon he has won the domestic title twice but having seen Claude Puel’s side slip to third and then fourth over the past two seasons Toulalan would surely now be amenable to a switch.
The bulky battler has been particularly effective during Lyon’s Champions League run and his years of experience both at European club level and in the international game are just what Wenger is looking for.
