Eastlands boss confirms deal all but done.
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has confirmed the Blues are close to signing Germany defender Jerome Boateng in an £11million deal.
City have been keen on luring the 21-year-old to Eastlands from Hamburg and now the English and German league seasons are over, the transfer could be concluded this week.
“We are quite close to signing him,” Mancini told the Manchester Evening News.
“Boateng is a good player, a young player and strong.
“He plays for the national team and there is a good chance to get him.
“He can play three different positions; central defence, right full-back or in midfield. If we find a player like that it is better for us.” (Sporting Life)
This deal seems as good as done and if so Manchester City have nabbed themselves one of the hottest prospects in German football. I guess Roberto Mancini wasn’t to confident in his current back line and a move for the Hamburg man will help shore up a defence that shipped more goals than anyone else in the top seven.
Are Eastlands fans excited about this potential capture?
