Old Trafford boss wants French international.
Manchester United are reportedly ready to make their interest in Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra known. Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to make a big money signing or two this summer and has earmarked the former Chelsea and Arsenal man as a player he very much would like to snap up.
The impish 25 year old has found it hard to secure a regular spot in the Bernabeu starting line up managing to make the first eleven for just over half of the time under Manuel Pellegrini’s leadership. When called upon the French international has managed to do very well at the Spanish giants but he could be on his way out as Real Madrid look to shake things up.
Many of the club’s ever expanding squad are apparently expendable, including Diarra, and Sir Alex would very much like to bring the intelligent defensive midfielder to Old Trafford.
Manchester United could arguably do with a player of his caliber at the club. Having seen Owen Hargreaves miss more or less the entire season and with others playing in that breaking down role at various times of the season a move for a permanent player to use would be very handy indeed.
Diarra would probably jump at the chance of such a move if indeed an offer was made for the player who appears to be valued in the £20-22m range. Clearly any move for the Real Madrid man could depend on whether finances will be made available for new additions.
