Arsene Wenger is ready to splash the cash this summer and is planning a significant bid for Ac Milan striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar. With Brazilian Leonardo being relieved of his duties at the San Siro the Italian giants are set for a turbulent time and the Arsenal boss believes this could be the perfect time to try to move for the faltering Dutchman.
Having experienced a nightmare season at Real Madrid, Huntelaar was offloaded to Ac Milan for a fee in the region of £14m and injuries and lack of first team opportunities have left the 26 year old wondering how to resurrect his stuttering career.
Arsenal experienced a massive injury crisis in the attacking third of the field last season and were reduced to having to play some of the season with players out of position. Wenger may well feel that such a crisis hampered his title push and wants to bring in experienced players to help bring an end to a five season silverware-less drought.
Huntelaar would surely jump at the chance of such a move and Wenger may well feel that partnering the former Ajax man with his compatriot Robin Van Persie may well help the Emirates side mount a sustained challenge for significant silverware next season.
