Stamford Bridge full back could be set for La Liga move.
CHELSEA are bracing themselves for massive bids from Barcelona and Real Madrid for Ashley Cole.
Both of the Spanish giants are in the market for a top left-back and Cole is rated among the best in the world.
Feelers have already been put out over Cole’s availability.
So far Chelsea are resisting but Real Madrid are expected to test the Stamford Bridge resolve with a £20million offer for the 29-year-old, who has been plagued by injury and off-the-field problems. (Express)
Ashley Cole was apparently incensed at the manner in which Roman Abramovich and Carlo Ancelotti reacted to his extra-marital affairs and was apparently ready to leave the club in the summer but recent successes may well have made such speculation less relevant.
However Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid feel they may well be able to prize away the former Arsenal man to La Liga. Given the recent double achieved by Chelsea it could be that the problems earlier in the season are forgotten.
The 29 year old is in the form of his life and since his return from long term injury helping the club to four successive clean sheets in the games he has started since his two months out with a fractured ankle. It would be strange if the left back left the club at this stage so expect this rumour to die away over the summer.
