Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is readying a big money bid for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko this summer. The north London club are looking for alternative attacking options and having already pretty much sealed the deal to bring Marouane Chamakh to the Emirates the north London club are now setting their sights on the Bundesliga ace.

Bosnian international Dzeko has had a great season at last season’s German champions even though his side struggled to live up to the surprise title winning success of the previous term the 24 year old still managed to net an impressive 29 goals as Wolfsburg turned in an average eighth placed finish.

New boss Steve McClaren’s first task will be to try and keep the club’s prized asset from leaving Lower Saxony club but it seems highly likely Dzeko will look to further his career elsewhere. The likes of AC Milan were said to be nearing a deal for the prolific finisher.

Edin Dzeko is valued in the region of £24m by Wolfsburg who will try to get as much as they can for the Sarajevo born striker. The fee isn’t likely to be a problem for the Gunners as Wenger has been promised a hefty transfer war chest to help end a five season long silverware drought.
