Bernabeu hero looks to claim last piece of silverware puzzle.
Iker Casillas appears to have been around for an age but is still just 28 and has pretty much achieved almost all there is to achieve in the game. Having just completed his 11th season as Real Madrid’s number one the Spaniard has once again shown the world that he is most people’s selection as the best keeper on the planet.
Having helped his country to the Euro 2008 title he now switches his attention to the World Cup, a prize he would dearly love to attain. Vicente Del Bosque will be looking to the vastly experienced goalie to marshal his defence and this is one task he has become more than an expert in, the expressive Madrid born man is never short of things to say to his back four, both good and bad.
Such is Iker’s dominance that the likes of Pepe Reina and Victor Valdes have to sit patiently waiting their turn from the bench. With already 102 international caps in the bag one wonders just how much more Casillas can still achieve before he hangs up his gloves. The agile Real Madrid hero is adept at clawing away seemingly goal bound efforts and is pretty damn good in the air and rarely flaps at crosses and is quite simply the most complete goalie of his generation.
