Wenger wants to bring Juventus man to the Emirates.
Arsenal have set their sights on highly rated Juventus centre back Giorgio Chiellini. Arsene Wenger is looking to bring in defensive additions this summer and has earmarked the Italian international as a Emirates target. The £16m rated centre back has spent the last five seasons at the Turin club but may be ready to leave the Serie A strugglers after a particularly poor season.
The north London side have an aging back line and could well lose the services of William Gallas, Mikel Silvestre and Sol Campbell leaving the Gunners with few experienced options to turn to. A number of potential defensive signings have been linked with a move to the club in recent weeks including the likes of Neven Subotic, Jerome Boateng and Christophe Metzelder.
Chiellini has become an important part of Marcello Lippi’s international set up and the former Fiorentina would be a very useful signing if Wenger can persuade Juventus to sell.
