Eastlands boss return to Italy to try to entice Brazilian to the Premier League.
Roberto Mancini has placed Juventus attacking midfielder Diego at the top of his summer wish list. The Manchester City boss believes he can convince the Brazilian international to leave the Turin club after just one season at the club.
The former Werder Bremen playmaker arrived at the Old Lady of Italian football last summer hoping that he could help Claudio Ranieri’s side to build on their second place Serie A finish but found himself in the middle of a nightmare season as Juventus found themselves changing bosses with alarming regularity as first Ranieri, then Ferrara and then finally Alberto Zaccheroni took the hot seat.
Diego had an average season whilst those around him had awful ones and Juventus has to settle for a seventh placed finish. Mancini is looking for more creative midfield options to help support an already highly impressive collecton of strikers.
The £19m rated pint sized attacking midfielder could be just the kind of player the Eastlands side needs to push on towards a top four finish.
