Eastlands boss sets sights on San Siro hero.
Roberto Mancini is ready to ignore statements coming out from the San Siro as he attempts to lure Inter Milan forward Diego Milito to Eastlands. The Manchester City boss is ready to offer around £24m for the 30 year old Argentine and believes he could persuade the former Genoa man to leave the Champions League winners now that Jose Mourinho is set to leave the club.
Inter owner Massimo Moratti released a statement earlier this week stating that the club would not sell the prolific finisher even if Jose Mourinho attempted to take him to Real Madrid with him.
Even though Mancini has a great many attacking options at the club he is still apparently keen on bringing in his own players rather than settle for those brought by Mark Hughes. Diego Milito has had an incredible first season at the Milan outfit, scoring 30 goals as he helped the club to a historic treble.
Having seen his side miss out on a top four finish the Italian is reportedly set for a big summer clear out which may well include some of his current strike force. The likes of Roque Santa Cruz and Craig Bellamy have been heavily linked with an Eastlands exit and top scorer Carlos Tevez apparently has a rather strained relationship with Mancini leading many to believe that he too could be potential departure bound.
