Sir Alex Ferguson has set his sights on highly rated Belgian starlet Eden Hazard and is set to go head to head with Arsenal in the race for the Lille playmaker. Manchester United are looking to bring more youthful long term options this summer and feel a move for young talent would be a wise one.

The teenager was named the French Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year last season and almost scooped the Player of the Year gong as well. For two seasons the adaptable midfielder was on the periphery of the first team but last term got a good run in the side and was practically an ever present and helped the club to a fourth place finish and a good run in the Europa League.

The impish youngster is now a regular in the Belgian national team and has matured over the past year and would be a very useful signing. However his Lille side knows just how highly thought of Hazard is and have therefore placed a fairly hefty price tag of around £13m which could be deemed inflated for a 19 year old.

Arsene Wenger is perennially linked with a move to bring Eden Hazard to the Emirates but the north London club may now face a battle for his signature as a move from the French minnows seems inevitable.
