White Hart Lane boss looks to bring in hot prospect to allay injury concerns.
Harry Redknapp has set his sights on highly rated French Under 21 captain Mamadou Sakho and is hoping to sign the PSG man this summer. The Tottenham boss appears keen on adding more defensive options to his White Hart Lane squad amid concerns that some of his back four are more than just a little injury prone.
The Paris St Germain defender has been linked with a move to Arsenal but as yet no move has been made by the Emirates outfit and Spurs may well be able to tempt the youngster to the club given their huge improvement of late. Clearly the carrot of Champions League football may well tempt the 20 year old into considering just such a move and the fact that his former Under 21 teammate Sebastien Bassong is at the club may well work in their favour.
Injury worries in relation to the likes of Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate and to a lesser extent Michael Dawson appears to have led to Redknapp’s interest in snapping up the highly rated centre back. Sakho’s mature performances during the past two seasons have led to much speculation about his future and last seasons 13th placed finish may act as further incentive to leave the Parc des Princes.
