Well it comes as no great surprise that the nippy little pint sized Argentine tops this list. He would’ve probably won it by a canter if this was a list created a year ago and then factor in the Barcelona attacker’s phenomenal season and you have a winner by a country mile.
Not content with helping his Catalan side to a treble in his previous season the 22 year old, yep that’s scary only 22, decided he would up his game and attempt to score as many goals as was humanly possible. He racked up 47 in total, which is frankly mind blowing. The fact that about a third of them were world class by anyone’s standards, but not his own, merely further solidifies his place as the undisputed best footballer on planet Earth.
He will do his best to help Diego Maradona’s Argentina side to World Cup glory and who would bet against him ending the tournament with the golden boot at the very least!
