Sir Alex Ferguson could be willing to stump up the cash to bring Wolfsburg hotshot Edin Dzeko to Old Trafford. The Bosnian international has been valued at a fairly inflated £34m by his Bundesliga club but the Manchester United boss may consider making a move for the 24 year old albeit by offering a deal more in the region of £25m.

Dzeko has been linked with a move to Man United previously and it seems logical that the Premier League side would be looking for more firepower in lieu of the fact that last season England man Wayne Rooney was left to shoulder the lions share of the burden due to a lack of effective support from Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen’s ever present injury concerns.

The likes of Manchester City and AC Milan are also sniffing around the prolific marksman who has netted 65 goals in the past two seasons. Edin Dzeko would surely have the most interest in making a move to Manchester United and it appears that the only obstacle to his leaving Wolfsburg is the club’s valuation. Clearly the club is keen to cash in on their prized possession but an unrealistic price tag could prevent them from selling and would leave them with an unhappy player.

A sticking point for United may be the huge level of debt the club is labouring under but Ferguson has been told he will have funds to spend money in the summer and adding another striker to his squad would appear to be one of his main priorities this summer.
