Stoke boss Tony Pulis has lined up an £11million bid for Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko – and is on the verge of signing Hull defender Steven Mouyokolo.
Pulis wants to do business with old pal Harry Redknapp and take Pavlyuchenko to the Britannia Stadium in a surprise swoop.
Stoke are desperate to bring in more firepower this summer and are still keen on recruiting West Ham’s Carlton Cole.
But the Potters are also preparing a whopping bid for Spurs’ Russia international as Pulis prepares to splash chairman Peter Coates’ cash.
Stoke scored only 34 Premier League goals last season and Pulis wants to bring in at least two front men before next season. (Daily Mirror)
This is a fairly astonishing move for Stoke City to make and such is the growth of the Potters in recent seasons that it is not a total unlikely capture, but its one I can’t see coming to fruition. If Roman Pavlyuchenko does look for a move from White Hart Lane I think it likely he will England all together with a move back to Russia the most likely destination for the 28 year old.
Having failed to force his way into the Tottenham first team and even after a good run of form last term it does seem the Spartak Moscow man will have to resign himself to a spot on the bench to begin with. The Euro 2008 star has failed to ignite his career in the Premier League but I find it unlikely he will make a move to join Tony Pulis’s side even though they have done fantastically well in recent seasons
