Manager Sir Alex Ferguson has had the Dane monitored for the past six months and he is available at around £14m. (News of the World)
Sir Alex Ferguson must hate Real Madrid. He must have a voodoo doll of each and every presidential candidate that has served his stint at the Bernabeu in recent years. Recent comments from Nemanja Vidic stating that his client was considering his options must have alerted every side in Europe and Jose Mourinho is after some new defensive talent and would be a fool to not register his interest in the Serbian international.
The Manchester United boss will of course try his best to allay any such move but it will be interesting to see if the top notch centre back pushes for an Old Trafford exit.
Simon Kjaer is a hot prospect who has shown maturity beyond his years in the past two seasons at Palermo. He seems destined to leave though as he may have outgrown the Serie A minnows. Would he be a good signing? Yes. Is he anywhere near the same league as Vidic? NO!
