Emirates outfit look to boost midfield with top notch Serie A star.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is rumoured to be interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari as he looks to add more experienced established players into his relatively inexperienced Emirates squad. The Gunners boss has previously attempted to sign the Ghanaian when he was at Portsmouth but was beaten to the punch by the San Siro outfit.
The 25 year old all purpose midfielder is in many ways two players in one. He has the ability to play in a defensive role and is adept at breaking down attacking opposition moves but is also able to push forward with great speed and is a good link between midfield and attack.
£16m rated Muntari was one of Jose Mourinho’s first signings as Inter Milan boss and he may well relish the chance to return to the Premier League where he was a revelation at Fratton Park where he helped Pompey to a respectable 8th place finish and a FA Cup triumph.
Arsenal’s local rivals Tottenham have also been linked with a move due to Harry Redknapp’s obvious links to the player but no bid has yet come from White Hart Lane.
