Goodison Park outfit want Manchester City midfielder.
EVERTON boss David Moyes is keen on Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland.
The 23-year-old told City boss Roberto Mancini last season he wanted to move away from Eastlands.
Ireland stopped short of handing in a transfer request but had become frustrated at the lack of first-team chances.
And with City linked with David Silva, Yaya Toure and James Milner, Ireland hopes an £8million bid from the Toffees will be enough for a fresh start. (The Sun)
Whilst the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have both been linked with a move for Stephen Ireland but perhaps the 23 year old would be better off joining Everton? The reason he is due to leave Eastlands is the fact that despite his very obvious talent he can not get a regular spot in the first team so a move to either the Emirates or Old Trafford would presumably result in a similar problem?
David Moyes is keen on adding more creativity to his midfield and a move for the Irish international would be a very wise one the only problem is the fee. Valued at £12m one wonders if the Toffees boss will be given such a cash boost?
There is the usual summer speculation about the Goodison Park boss losing a player or two and Moyes is always having to work with a tight budget but if the Merseyside club does indeed attempt to make a move I can see the Cork lad being interested.
