Bernabeu boss wants Emirates hotshot.
Arsenal are rumoured to about to receive a bid for their Dutch international striker Robin Van Persie from recently installed Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho. Arsene Wenger is certain to resist any moves for the 26 year old former Feyenoord man.
After six seasons at the north London club the talented striker has become a hero with Gunners fans but has regularly been linked with moves away from the club and once again last term suffered niggling injuries that greatly hampered the club’s title aspirations.
There is no doubt that when fully fit and in the right frame of mind there are few better forwards in the game and it is no surprising that Jose Mourinho is keen on securing Van Persie’s services at the Bernabeu. The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss is rumoured to be ready to make a wealth of changes to the side that Manuel Pellegrini took to second spot in La Liga last term and started the process earlier in the week when he signed Benfica’s highly rated Argentine wide man Angel Di Maria.
Thought be rated in the region of £35m but given the fact that Arsenal are in a financially prudent position they do not need to sell any of their prized possessions to make ends meet. The onus may well be on the player himself and whether he wishes to continue at the club that has failed to secure any silverware for five seasons.
Fortunately for Arsene Wenger, Robin Van Persie appears to have a great affinity for the club and is unlikely to push for a move to the Spanish giants, but that will not prevent the ‘Special One’ from attempting to procure his services.
Jose Mourinho attempted to snap up Van Persie when he was Inter Milan boss last summer – Arsenal’s Robin van Persie a target for Jose Mourinho and Inter Milan who are reportedly preparing a £25 million bid for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.
