As regards current Bordeaux players, Arsenal and Lyon are thought to be interested in midfielder Yoann Gourcuff, while skipper and fellow midfielder Alou Diarra is also thought to be attracting interest.
While Triaud says the pair would be allowed to leave the club, he insists this will only be if the price was right.
He added: “If they want to leave and a club would pay the fee stated in the clauses, I would say congratulations and good luck.”. (Sky Sports)
Arsenal will be able to secure the services of Yoann Gourcuff if they meet a £22 million buyout clause in his contract.
The French international has been linked with a move away from club side Bordeaux all summer, with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger the clear favourite to secure his services.
A product of the Rennes youth system, Gourcuff made his senior debut for the Ligue 1 club in 2003. Three years later, AC Milan would pay close to €3.5 million for his services. (Give Me Football – Official PFA Website)
The Bordeaux chairman appears to be saying ‘come and get him’ with regards to the French international and perhaps that is all the encouragement the Arsenal boss needs to go ahead and make a successful bid. The 23 year old would surely jump at the chance of a move to the north London club, especially after seeing his title winning side drop to sixth spot last term.
Having experienced a pretty horrid World Cup then playmaker is probably looking for a new challenge and a move to the Premier League will surely appeal to the former AC Milan man. Wenger has cash to spend and is known to be a big admirer of a player who very much resembles the type of player that the Emirates boss would go for.
Gourcuff is an intelligent midfield who has great vision and the ability to get forward and scores goals from midfield and could be of great use to the north London club.
