Roy Hodgson is apparently considering a move to bring Portsmouth midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng to Anfield after being impressed by the playmaker’s performances for Ghana at the World Cup. The new Liverpool boss believes he can snare the Pompey man on the cheap given the financial crisis the Championship club are in.

The 23 year old former Tottenham man won many fans with his performances that helped take his side to within touching distance of a historic semi-final berth and the German born attack minded flair player will surely be looking to leave Fratton Park in pursuit of a move back to the top tier either in England or back in the Bundesliga.

Roy Hodgson will know that he doesn’t have a great deal in the way of transfer funds and will know that a bid as low as £7m could be enough to persuade the south coast club to sell. Boateng would jump at the chance of a move to the Merseyside outfit and has shown enough potential to make many believe he could yet become the top notch player many believed he was destined to be after his impressive early career form at Hertha Berlin.

The powerfully built midfielder is looking to reverse the oft perceived reputation he has of being a bad influence after run ins with his former bosses at Hertha and Tottenham and whilst he didn’t exactly sparkle at Portsmouth his run of form for Ghana has made many sit up and take notice.
