CAPE TOWN, June 30, 2010 Tiago of Portugal heads for the ball during the 2010 World Cup round of 16 soccer match aginst Spain at Green Point stadium in Cape Town, South Africa, on June 29, 2010.

Tottenham are rumoured to be considering a move for Juventus midfielder Tiago as Harry Redknapp looks to bring in further strength in depth in the centre of the White Hart Lane midfield, according to Italian reports. The former Chelsea man is seen as surplus to requirements by new Juventus boss Luigi Delneri and the north London club may feel they can nab the 29 year old Portuguese international cheaply.

Having spent half of last season at Atletico Madrid it had been thought that the battling midfielder would be heading back to the La Liga side on a permanent deal but as yet no deal has been struck leaving the way open for a selection of other interested parties to consider a move for the intelligent ball winner.

As well as interest from Spurs the likes of Everton, CSKA Moscow and Marseille have reportedly looked at making a move for the midfielder who is thought to be valued at around £7m by his Italian employers. Harry Redknapp may well have just brought in Brazilian youngster Sandro but may be about to offload Jermaine Jenas and could therefore feel the need to bring in another experienced head to patrol the centre of the park.

Previous interest in Tiago who was believed to be on his way to the club back in 2008 – TOTTENHAM are set to sign former Chelsea star Tiago from Juventus for £9million. Spurs have already agreed a fee with the Italian giants and hope to complete the deal early next week. (The Sun)
