Barcelona president Sandro Rosell will hold face-to-face talks with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger in South Africa and offer £50m for midfielder Cesc Fabregas. (Sunday Express)
So if indeed Sandro Rosell is set for talks with Arsene Wenger, why doesn’t the Arsenal boss just keep his phone off the hook and make alternative plans? There seems little reason in the Emirates manager meeting the Barcelona President.
This will of course NOT be the last we hear from the Catalan club who have set their hearts, and their various media machines, on getting the Gunners skipper. The 23 year old has spent most of the World Cup cutting a forlorn figure sitting on the bench as various other members of the Nou Camp midfield (Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Segio Busquets) enjoy themselves on the field of play, perhaps this is a little bit of a wake up call to the midfielder and maybe enough evidence of what could happen if he did indeed push for a move to the La Liga giants.
Even if a £50m bid did come in for Cesc, there is no reason the north London side would accept and would only consider doing so if the player himself forces the issue.
