Wolfsburg’s star striker Edin Dzeko has once again reiterated his desire to leave the Bundesliga outfit ahead of the new season.

The Bosnia international is thought to be on Manchester City’s shopping list and he is hopeful of moving on to further his career on the continent.

Speaking to German newspaper Kicker, he said: “I want to clarify that it is not a matter of money, but of ambition. I feel I have to take a leap in quality and land in a big club.

“It is an important moment of my career and I also explained that to the leaders of Wolfsburg. With them I have a wonderful relationship and I am sure they will fulfil my desire.” (Independent)

Edin wants to leave Wolfsburg and that seems clear all Manchester City, or any other interest party, needs to do is put in a whopping big offer for the Bosnian. The Bundesliga outfit apparently wants £34m which is a pretty steep price to pay, even though the talented forward has been in marvellous form for the past two seasons.

It makes good sense for Roberto Mancini to offer Roque Santa Cruz into the bargain, not least because of his eight seasons in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, during which time the Paraguayan landed five domestic titles.

Will a swap deal be enough to secure the 24 year old? Well if the Eastlands club really want to snap up the Sarajevo born forward who has scored 65 goals in the past two seasons, then they can no doubt easily afford to pay any valuation that Wolfsburg ask for.
