Arsenal and Spurs are said to be among the clubs keen on signing Germany international Serdar Tasci, so says the player’s representative.

Although Arsene Wenger has already signed Laurent Koscielny from Lorient, he is expected to sign at least one more defender with William Gallas and Philippe Senderos having left the club and Sol Campbell and Mikael Silvestre expected to follow suit.

“The situation is that Serdar is aware of the interest from the Premier League, and he is eager to play in England at some point during his career,” agent Uli Ferber told Sport.co.uk.

“Serdar respects both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur as two of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and in Europe. He would love to play for such a well-supported club. Also he is a fan of Arsene Wenger, the work he has done, and has great respect for him.” (Give Me Football – Official PFA Website)

Having already sealed the signing of Laurent Koscielny, Wenger is still hungry for more defensive options. With Sol Campbell, William Gallas and Mikel Silvestre all out the door the Gunners can definitely do with a player as talented as the 23 year old German international.

In his first full season in the Stuttgart first team he helped the club to the Bundesliga title and has been very consistent since but appears ready to leave and his agent appears to be pushing for an Arsenal move and the Emirates boss is known to be an admirer.

Even though Tasci is contracted until 2014 his valuation is pretty damn low at £10m so one would imagine it may take a bid larger than that reported by the sources quoted.
