Emirates boss ready to re-ignite interest in long term target.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is on alert for Juventus ace Sebastian Giovinco and could design a move for him, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Giovinco has struggled to break into the starting XI ever since Diego arrived from Werder Bremen and new coach Luigi Del Neri’s rigid 4-4-2 system has also left little room for flexibility.
The tactician confirmed he had faith in Diego, sending messages that Giovinco may find it tough next term.
‘La Formica Atomica’ has made clear he wants regular action through his agent, Andrea D’Amico. Bari and Parma have also been linked; the former expressed their desire to sign Giovinco earlier in the transfer window.
But, should Arsenal’s interest take off, Giovinco will be attracted by the melting pot of Premier League and Champions League football, and a decent offer from London could convince Juve into selling. (Goal.com)
It does appear that new Juventus boss Luigi Delneri is looking to build his attacking force around Brazilian playmaker Diego which would appear to leave one time hot prospect Sebastian Giovinco out in the cold and a move to the Emirates would surely be welcomed by the £12m rated 23 year old.
After bursting on the scene at the Turin club three years ago the talented attacking midfielder has failed to gain a regular foot hold in the first team and only managed five Serie A starts last term and has failed to win a senior call up despite an excellent period in the Under 21 side, mainly due to his limited starting eleven prospects at Juventus.
Clearly the pint sized attacker would also struggle to win a first team spot at Arsenal but may feel he has little to lose and could be interested in a new challenge.
