Didier Drogba’S agent has revealed he is in talks with Manchester City over a £20million move.
Thierno Seydi admitted he had spoken directly to City about the 32-year-old Chelsea striker.
Seydi said: “Today he’s at Chelsea. Maybe there will be surprises before August 31.
“I haven’t spoken to just anybody. The only contact I’ve had directly was with City.”
Seydi told Radio Monte Carlo: “At his age I can no longer hide the financial aspect.
“The club that want Didier will have to meet the price.”
City plan to give Drogba a three-year deal worth £18m-plus. Chelsea are eyeing Liverpool’s Fernando Torres and will not give up on him if Drogba leaves. (The Sun)
Clearly if Manchester City pull off this move it would be one hell of a coup. The fact that the player’s agent is admitting that he has met with the Eastlands club to discuss a deal must surely be something the west London club would not be happy about, that is of course if this source is to be believed.
Even at 32 the Ivorian still has a lot to offer and is at his peak right now and Carlo Ancelotti will not want to sell a striker who has netted an astonishing 131 goals in 213 starts. Roberto Mancini has already pulled off the stellar signings of David Silva and Yaya Toure so who knows, maybe they will nab the Chelsea man.
