Is an LCD Soundsystem a fantastically impressive TV? No, it’s a rather good dance punk band fronted by its only constant member: James Murphy.

Soon that last sentence will be in the past tense, for LCD Soundsystem are retiring at the very top – like Justine Henin or Michael Jordan or Sir Fred Goodwin. Before Murphy and co depart though, they will say goodbye to their fans in the UK with seven more live performances.

The first three are at festivals. They will play Reading and Leeds festival between August 27th – 29th 2010, and Bestival on the Isle Of Wight on September 12th 2010, but the band will also embark on a UK tour in November – co-headlining with celebrated electronic band Hot Chip.
