White Hart Lane boss plans Eastlands spending spree.
Tottenham are reportedly very interested in securing the services of Manchester City trio Stephen Ireland, Micah Richards and Craig Bellamy and will look to make a significant bid for the trio before the transfer window shuts.
Roberto Mancini has apparently fallen out with Ireland during the club’s North American tour and is having to consider which players do not make his 25 man squad for next season. Harry Redknapp is itching to bring in new signings to further strengthen his White Hart Lane squad and is looking for adaptable players who can fulfil multiple roles.
With that in mind Micah Richards is also high on his wish-list with the England international being an intelligent option to help deal with the injury concerns Spurs have with perennially crocked defenders Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King, handily the City man can also work well at full back.
The same can be said of Craig Bellamy who has been in excellent form at Man City when played out wide as well as his usual position of an out and out striker. All three Eastlands players are not guaranteed first team spots at the club and would welcome a move to a club that can offer Champions League football so these moves may well be realistic ones that could be completed in the coming weeks. The trio would cost in the region of £22m and it would appear that Redknapp has the financial backing of Daniel Levy in order to make just such an offer.
