David Beckham is happy at LA Galaxy and has had no contact with West Ham, a spokesman for the former England captain has announced.
Beckham has been linked with a move to Upton Park, with Hammers co-owner David Gold revealing he wants to sign the 35-year-old midfielder and that talks have taken place with the player’s agent.
But a spokesman for Beckham has denied the rumours, insisting the veteran will remain in the States.
“Whilst it’s flattering to hear of interest there has been no contact with or offer from West Ham,” said the spokesman.
“David is happy at the Los Angeles Galaxy and has no interest in leaving, and is looking forward to returning to the team on August 9.”
Beckham is still on the mend from the ruptured Achilles tendon that ruled him out of the World Cup, but is hoping to be back in action before the end of Galaxy’s MLS season. (Sky Sports)
The latest in a very long line of targets that David Gold and David Sullivan have suggested they were looking into signing, and this one appears to have as much validity as some of the others. The likes of Thierry Henry, Raul, Guti and Garrincha (we made that one up) have all been reported possible signings, clearly, none of them signed.
Expect Manchester City to make a bid.

West Ham is a crap club. Just like last season they will end up battling against relegation. They just don’t have enough player quality to go higher up the table.

Don’t really need Beckham or the circus that surrounds him. If we need a “face” to help with our bid for the Olympics we should use Sir Trevor Brooking and other people like Tony Carr because of what the club does for youth sport.
